10 Tips That Help Prevent Teen Acne

We all know that teen acne is a skin disorder that affects several teenagers. We can control it and perhaps eliminate it if treated properly. Below, I have listed some helpful tips that can help you if your one of those several teens suffering from this unpleasant skin disorder.

1. Before washing your face, clean your hands thoroughly so you won't transfer any bacteria from your hands to your face. Try using a product that does not contain alcohol (Isopropyl Alcohol) as alcohol can irritate skin and dry it. Use a product like bar soap and avoid products such as hand sanitizer before washing your face.

2. Wash your face at least twice a day but, do not over do it as this can cause irritation to the skin which can conclude the skin to produce more oil than it normally has to. Remember to wash your face in a circular motion in order for the bacteria to be pushed outward instead of inward. The left side of the face should be washed in a counter-clockwise motion while the right side should be washed clock-wise.

3. Choose a specially made soap for your face, this way you won't clog your pores causing your skin to produce more acne. Remember, your pores need space in order for oils from your body to reach the surface of the skin.

4. Buy a soft cloth (if you're going to use one) that won't irritate your skin causing even more acne. It is recommended that you wash your face with your hands but your body will need a soft cloth. By soft cloth I mean a cloth that won't irritate your skin.

5. Dieting plays an important role in teen acne. Poor eating habits can produce more oil than the sebaceous gland has to, causing even more acne. ( This is not always the case for some teenagers as genetics also play a big role in teen acne). Nevertheless, keep dieting in mind! Eat healthy, be healthy, live happy!

6. If your physically active (which most of us are) you produce more oil and bacteria (sweat) which can cause more acne. My tip would be to at least take a soft cloth while walking, running, playing etc... This way you will at least keep your face partly clean meanwhile.

7. Bathe constantly. If for some reason you do not bathe constantly, try to. Bathing constantly keeps your body and face clean. At least bathe twice per day but don't over do it, remember, you don't want to irritate your skin.

8. Nowadays, almost every teen uses lotions, makeup, hairsprays, gels and such for beauty. If you use any of these products, make sure their labeled non acnegenic or non comedogenic which basically means they do not clog the pores of your skin. As for gels and hairsprays, avoid contact with your face or body as these products have lots of oils.

9. If you wear tight clothes (like most teens nowadays) avoid wearing them too tight as this also can cause irritation. You may think I went a little overboard with this but your skin is a very sensitive part of your body and you need to take care of it if you want to be acne free.

10. Try natural teen acne remedies as these do not cause any harm to your sensitive skin. Avoid other teen acne treatments that contain harmful chemicals and stick to only one teen acne treatment that best suits you.
